cold, but sunny

my dear readers and followers,
i am very sorry for not being very active on my blog recently, but there are a lot of things going on in my life. i hope you’ll forgive me ;)

i took all those pictures last week on a very cold and sunny winter morning after a long period of dark and grey skies. i think you can imagine how happy i was about that break in the weather :)

happy holidays!

i wish you all happy holidays, dear people! i hope you had a wonderful christmas eve yesterday with your beloved ones around you!
i celebrated with my sister and a friend of her in upper austria, we had a lovely evening with tons of delicious food :)

Processed with VSCOcam with b5 preseti took this picture yesterday, christmas felt a little bit like easter this year, it was very warm and sunny, the snow is melting away…

weekly photo challenge: let there be light!

because of a lack of time i missed some of the last few challenges, but this week’s theme is the perfect chance for me to re-enter the weekly photo challenge :)

light-3 light-4 light-7 light-8i took those pictures the same day as the pictures in my last post, on a cold and sunny winter morning in vienna.

the most beautiful cemetery

sorry for being absent lately… i thought i would have a lot of time for blogging now that i finished my study. but somehow life is busy, but i’m not complaining about it ;)
in addition i’m working on my portfolio for a photography college, the entrance exam is on may 24th, i’m  a bit nervous already…

so today i got up early to take some photos at a cemetery in vienna, called “st. marxer friedhof”. it is the only remaining cemetery from the biedermeier period and was founded in 1784. wolfgang amadeus mozart is one of the most famous people who found their peace at this beatuiful place.
up to now i didn’t like cemeteries very much but today i stayed for almost two hours, this place was kind of magical for me… and for some reason i had to cry when i saw the pictures on my computer. i didn’t expect to get so emotional when seeing them, it was overwhelming. i definitely have to go back there one day…

walking in an easter-winter-wonderland

i am spending most of my easter holidays at my hometown in upper austria. the original plan was to go hiking with my sister but since there’s still a lot of snow, we decided to make short trips every day.
on wednesday we made just a small hiking tour up the ‘sternstein’, a small mountain with 1.125 meters. it was unbelievable how much snow there still was… but i enjoyed the silence and the nature a lot. on our way to the mountain top we saw that the ski-lift was still in operation, so we went skiing (me snowboarding) there yesterday. unfortunately i cannot show you any photos of the skiing trip because i was too afraid to take the camera with me.

but i really, really hope that this one was my last winter post ;)
